Youngest ever Lord Mayor of Westminster aged 23 on duty to proclaim Charles as new King

The youngest ever Lord Mayor of Westminster has said it was a surreal honour to read out the proclamation of King Charles III.

When the King was officially confirmed as monarch during a historic service on Saturday, Hamza Taouzzale, who is just 23 years old and the first ever muslim to become Lord Mayor of Westminster, knew the gravity of the situation, and indeed the responsibility of the job.

Hamza will also be in attendance at the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, in an important ceremonial capacity.

Hamza spoke with James Dickman.
