Crowdfunding campaign underway to renovate Golden Hinde replica
The original Golden Hinde is the famous ship of Sir Frances Drake and was the first English ship to circumnavigate the world.
And while the original ship disintegrated centuries ago, it’s faithful replica is marking its 50th anniversary.
But as London Live found out, the replica, which uses traditional materials to be as accurate to the original as possible, is expensive to maintain.
A crowdfunding campaign has launched as those looking to renovate are in need of up to £25,000 to rebuild the rigging.
