Glenn Hoddle on the launch of LifePad and learning lifesaving CPR

With ambulance strikes having just taken place and more on the horizon, being confident and able to perform a life-saving act has never been more important.

Over 30,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of a hospital each year, with stark statistics showing that around 80% happen in a place of residence – meaning that the first responder will very likely be a friend or family member.

Someone who knows firsthand just how scary that can be is footballing legend Glenn Hoddle, who had a near fatal cardiac arrest in 2018.

He spoke exclusively to London Live about the launch of LifePad – the first medically certified resuscitation aid in the world that consumers can buy to help them perform CPR in an emergency.
