Federation for Small Businesses call on government to improve sick pay

The government has been urged to improve sick pay to help employers deal with staff absences.

It’s after the Federation for Small Businesses said the average cost to a small firm to cover the cost of sickness, was more than £3,000.

The organisation, along with the union the TUC, says an effective sick pay system would help the economy recover and support business.
